Nowadays, such a phenomenon as a ‘dressing room’ has ceased to surprise residents of the post-Soviet space. If before, we saw such a solution for storing clothes and shoes only in foreign films, now we are quite able to implement this technology of organising space in our own homes. As practice shows, a dressing room is a really convenient and reasonable analogue to a classic wardrobe.
A kind of prototype of modern dressing rooms could be called a pantry. True, in our understanding, a pantry is a microscopic room or improvised wardrobe, which is designed to store unused household items, and sometimes all sorts of unnecessary junk and rubbish. Cloakroom is presented as a neat and tidy room in which items of clothing, shoes, accessories, etc. are stored in a reasonable order.
The fact that there is a dressing room in the flat, does not mean that furniture items like wardrobe lose their relevance. Cabinet furniture cabinets are still needed. In the bedroom can be a chest of drawers for underwear, pantyhose and socks, a wardrobe for negligees, dressing gowns or clothes that are very often used. The hall needs beautiful shelving for books, mementos, awards and other functional or simply beautiful things. In the children’s room there should be a cabinet for toys and a wardrobe for seasonally appropriate clothes for the child.
In order for the dressing room to please its owners, it must be properly organised. In the dressing room there should be enough space for a person to change into a new set of clothes. Also in the dressing room should be a large mirror and good lighting, so that the owner of the flat could consider himself in a new garment. Some people manage to allocate a corner for an ironing board to iron things in their dressing room.
A dressing room is also a great way to express your creativity. The owner of the flat can use all their creativity when choosing the design of this small room, which will be hidden from the eyes of outsiders.
